I Am Controversy

I am not one to dither and lie in an anxious attempt to attain your acceptance.

I refuse to wither and die in the cesspools of scum submitted to the standards of society--

Standards that have dehumanized humanity and irrationalized all grounds of common sense.

I refuse to conform to a regime that compromises the consecrated purpose of humanity.

I refuse to surrender to oppression and transgression that is groundless and unsustainable.

I will not abandon the dignity of womanhood to achieve an appearance that is allegedly acceptable.

And I would prefer to be ugly and exiled than be an analogous, worthless tool that is strictly sexual.

I refuse to be enslaved to the concept of a freedom that is unreal and unattainable;

Yet my abstentions and regulations do not define the limitations of my personality,

Nor do they grant an explanation of the permutations of what I am capable to be.

I am controversy at its finest; refined; stressed; for you to intertwine and digest.

I am the beacon of hope for the hopelessly oppressed urchins of the ghetto;

I am the glitter of guidance for the wanderer wishing for the days of old;

I am the whisper of consciousness to the numb who seek a softer blow;

I am the preserver of what righteousness is left in our fold;

And I am not beguiled by the filth that you believe is gold.

And in my notions of right, my oceans of might will drown the world's vices

And turn them into light with a devotion that entices conciseness.

I will be the change emptied from the pitiless pockets of the givers of alms--

Mounting to millions,

Demanding a reformation to the corruption that has been forced in our palms.
